Default Exhaust manifold stud installation question

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
As we all know, the M7 studs for the exhaust manifolds are threaded on both ends. However, one thread end is longer than the other, so my question is: Which end of the stud goes into the engine block? The short end or the long end?

Thanks,

Henrik

The short end. And always remember: anti-seize compound is your friend.
